First Home Club
The Housing Council works in partnership with HSBC Mortgage Corporation (USA) and Community Bank, NA to deliver the Federal Home Loan Bank of New York´s First Home Club in St. Lawrence County. Through this unique program, moderate-income first-time homebuyers participate in a matched savings program to meet bank down payment and settlement expenses. The Federal Home Loan Bank will match every dollar saved by enrolled homeowners on a four to one basis ($4.00 for $1.00). The Housing Council provides individual counseling, 12 hours of classroom training, and administrative support to local lenders.
The Housing Council provides assistance regardless of an applicant's race, color, religion, gender, age, disability or familial status.
